Skills:
- Interpersonal yet unassuming: Expressive and encouraging, I will make your clients feel comfortable while they gain skills and growing confidence.
- Thorough yet not overwhelming: I develop straightforward quality curriculum that assumes your clients know nothing, but enables them to achieve awesome results!
- Flexible and knowledgeable, I learn new systems quickly and am "tool agnostic". (I'm happy using Windows, Mac or Linux, as the situation requires.)
Languages & Tools:
- Building modules in Rails (published on GitHub)
- Have programmed in PHP and Python (and a small bit in Perl and C years ago).
- Built a custom photo album module for PHP-Nuke content management system (PHP, MySQL).
- Have worked in Eclipse but still prefer a good text editor like Vi/gVim.
Currently Working On:
- Ruby on Rails modules (starting with the RailsTutorial.org and blogging my Rails experience here).
- Writing a book called "Software Programming for Beginners" using Scratch.
Intangibles:
- Team-focus: I enjoy succeeding, but enabling your success makes me even happier.
- Creative brainstormer: Stuck on something but want more? I'm the out-of-the-box brainstormer that helps the team come up with something awesome!

- Graphics - Photoshop, Gimp (raster/pixel-based), Inkscape (vector-based)
- Robotics - VEX, Lego NXT, custom robots using airplane controllers
- Animation - Flash, Swish, Blender3D
