For the past 5 years, I've been teaching my grade 9 students how to do basic spreadsheet functions.

This isn't really fancy, but it does give a nice introduction to the idea of functions.

Also, I originally wrote these instructions using a Linux desktop (5 years ago) and recently my students accidentally (and successfully) used them with Microsoft Excel 2003.  [The graphics in Part 2 change from Linux brown to Windows blue.]
