Draw a Dartboard!

Draw a Dartboard

  1. Open title-block-24x.dwg (This is a new file)

  2. Draw the Circles
    Diameters
      80
     180
     200
     350
     370
     460

  3. Draw a line straight up from the center
  4. Count the degrees to rotate this line so it is matches a line below the "20".
  5. Rotate this 

  6. Add the dimensions
    Choose one of the top 3 dimensions
    (see image below).



  7. SAVE AS... Activity-11.dwg.

Start with the Red X (that you will delete later. Then make CIRCLES (see dimension in the instructions).

Draw the circles from the Red X. Draw the line straight up (mine is red). You will delete the Red X later.

Rotate the straight up line. (Dartboards have 20 divisions so you divide 360 degrees by 20 and get "18". THEN we only want to move HALF of that, so we want to ROTATE by "9".)

After POLAR ARRAY and TRIM (with some Deletes)

Draw a line straight up to setup your text. (Delete the line later.)

TRIM your line to setup your text. (Delete the line later.)

Center the text above the gap. This can be done in different ways. For example, I offset a line on both sides (OFFSET by 100). Then I drew the text box from the corners of these lines. Then, I chose JUSTIFICATION = MIDDLE CENTER. (Delete all 3 lines later.)

What's Next?
Now, you need to edit the numbers to be correct.
You can also use HATCH to create black areas.  Remember to follow the Command Line instructions.

  • In your folder called "AutoCAD".  

  • Save this drawing as "Activity-11.dwg".
